Overview
In modern industrial design, hardware and software can no longer be developed separately. The most successful products on the market are complex, interconnected systems where mechanical engineering meets software intelligence. FA3 provides end-to-end product and systems engineering for enterprises developing mission-critical hardware.
Our cross-functional teams of mechanical, electrical and software engineers manage the entire product lifecycle, from initial architecture and rapid prototyping through to compliance testing and mass production readiness.
What we do
- Systems architecture & integration: We define the interactions between hardware components, embedded systems and cloud infrastructure to achieve reliable interoperability within complex, multi-layered products.
- Embedded systems & firmware engineering: We develop secure, efficient firmware (C/C++, Rust) for microcontrollers and edge devices, optimising for power consumption, low latency and over-the-air (OTA) update capabilities.
- Hardware engineering & prototyping: We handle mechanical design (CAD), thermal analysis and PCB routing, iterating quickly through functional prototypes using industrial 3D printing and CNC machining.
- Product Lifecycle Management (PLM): We implement enterprise PLM systems to manage CAD repositories, bill of materials (BOM) and change orders, maintaining a single source of truth from engineering through to manufacturing.
How we work
Our product engineering methodology is built on fast iteration and concurrent engineering. We avoid traditional waterfall hardware development. By using simulation (Digital Twins) and rapid prototyping, we shorten hardware cycles to keep pace with software development timelines.
We take a security-first, "shift-left" approach. We design for hardware that will operate in challenging environments, building in cryptographic security and anti-tamper mechanisms at the silicon level so that your physical products are as secure as your digital infrastructure.
